European Banking Federation
Zur Unterstützung des europäischen Einigungsprozesses und zur Wahrung ihrer Interessen in Brüssel haben sich die nationalen Verbände der privaten Banken in der European Banking Federation (EBF) zusammengeschlossen. Dieser 1960 gegründete Verband von Verbänden ist die gemeinsame Stimme der Europäischen Bankenbranche. Die EBF vertritt die Interessen von rund 5000 europäischen Banken aus 31 (EU und EFTA) Ländern mit einer kombinierten Bilanzsumme von über 30 000 Milliarden Euro und etwa 2,4 Millionen Beschäftigten.
Anstehende Entscheidungen der Europäischen Institutionen werden hier im Vorfeld auf Verbandsebene erörtert, um die Auffassung der Banken dann den zuständigen europäischen Institutionen zur Kenntnis zu bringen.
